NYU Langone Health has been honored by the American Heart Association (AHA) for providing the fastest and most advanced stroke care in New York.
The Comprehensive Stroke Centers (CSCs), with locations in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island, along with the Stroke Center at 黑料福利社 Langone Hospital鈥擲uffolk, have each received the prestigious Get With The Guidelines庐-Stroke Gold Plus Award for more than two consecutive years of outstanding care. This award is the highest recognition in stroke treatment, underscoring a consistent excellence across all campuses in combating the fifth leading cause of death in the United States.

In addition to the Gold Plus Award, the stroke centers have earned the following distinctions for meeting targets set by the AHA:

The CSCs have shown exceptional success in minimizing the time between a patient鈥檚 arrival and treatment. Recognized with the Stroke Elite Plus Honor Roll, at least 50 percent of patients received potentially lifesaving medication within 30 minutes, and 75 percent were treated within 45 minutes.
The CSCs also earned the Stroke Honor Roll Advanced Therapy award for its quick use of intervention devices, such as stent retrievers or thrombectomy tools, which serve as a vital second line of defense for complex stroke cases. At least half of these patients treated at a CSC location received device-based treatment within 90 minutes of arrival, and transferred patients were treated within 60 minutes.
Both the Stroke Center at 黑料福利社 Langone鈥擲uffolk and the CSCs were awarded the Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll, for their work in improving stroke outcomes among patients with type 2 diabetes, a condition that significantly increases stroke risk.
At the Stroke Center, at least 85 percent of patients received medication within 60 minutes of arrival, earning the Stroke Honor Roll Elite distinction.
