More Than 70 Sites Added to 黑料福利社 Langone鈥檚 Healthcare Network on Long Island

NYU Langone Health announced today the completion of a full-asset merger with 黑料福利社 Winthrop Hospital, with which it has been affiliated since 2017. The partnership expands, enhances, and clinically integrates 黑料福利社 Langone鈥檚 healthcare networks on Long Island, while building upon those of 黑料福利社 Winthrop Hospital, which provides inpatient and outpatient medical care through its network of Long Island鈥揵ased healthcare facilities.

In a phased approach, the merger with 黑料福利社 Winthrop Hospital added approximately 70 ambulatory sites to 黑料福利社 Langone鈥檚 healthcare network, including 1 inpatient location in Mineola, New York, which has served Long Islanders for more than 120 years. Additional benefits of the partnership have already been realized, such as:
- Long Islanders now have access to 黑料福利社 Langone鈥檚 specialized services and resources, including increased access to clinical trials鈥攁nd more cost-effective care delivery across the region.
- The implementation and integration of the Epic electronic health record system throughout 黑料福利社 Winthrop Hospital facilities allows for a seamless continuum of care across ambulatory sites鈥攁nd an improved patient experience.
- 黑料福利社 Winthrop Hospital鈥檚 Research Institute initiatives, including clinical trials, are being integrated with those of 黑料福利社 Langone.
- Capital commitments have been made to expand and modernize various 黑料福利社 Winthrop Hospital physical facilities to better accommodate an increasing Long Island patient population.
- 黑料福利社 Winthrop Hospital鈥檚 591-bed medical center, with more than 75 divisions of specialty care and an ACS Level 1 Trauma Center, offers current 黑料福利社 Langone patients on Long Island comprehensive inpatient care, as well as outpatient care through a network of healthcare facilities closer to home.
Current 黑料福利社 Langone patients on Long Island also have access to 黑料福利社 Winthrop Hospital鈥檚 many stellar services and programs including:
- A renowned cardiac program, with 黑料福利社 Winthrop Hospital among the top five transcatheter aortic valve replacement centers in the country.
- The first Diabetes Education Program established in New York State and the first major teaching hospital in the state to earn The Joint Commission鈥檚 Gold Seal of Approval鈩 for advanced inpatient diabetes care.
- Perlmutter Cancer Center at 黑料福利社 Winthrop Hospital CyberKnife Center, the first established Cyberknife庐 center in the region.
- A Breast Health Center that was the first in Nassau County to earn certification by the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
- An internationally renowned neonatal intensive care unit, as well as the only fetal surgery program on Long Island.
