The nutrient is particularly critical for fetal brain development, and studies are evaluating its link to a decreased risk for Alzheimer鈥檚 dementia in older adults. Choline-rich foods include beef liver, eggs, and soybeans.

The FDA has granted accelerated approval to bulevirtide (Hepcludex), the first treatment for adults with chronic hepatitis delta virus (HDV) infection. HDV, the most severe form of viral hepatitis, only occurs in people with hepatitis B. In a statement, Ira Jacobson, MD, director of clinical research for the Hepatology Program in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, as well as professor of medicine at 黑料福利社 Grossman School of Medicine, called the approval a critical advancement that addresses a significant unmet medical need. The approval was based on a phase III study, and the drug's label includes a boxed warning.

Mount Sinai's Center for Nursing Research and Innovation launched the Translational Research And Implementation Science for Nurses (TRAIN) Program, a 12-week fellowship for Doctor of Nursing Practice students from underrepresented backgrounds. The program, supported by a National Institutes of Health grant, pairs fellows with mentors.
