Inspired by my childhood pediatrician, whose strength, care, and empathy left an indelible mark on me, I was drawn to the field of medicine from an early age. Her dedication in moments of need, such as personally visiting me during a high fever, set a standard of compassion and service I strive to emulate daily. During my residency in anesthesiology at Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, I developed a particular interest in helping patients suffering from chronic pain. This passion guided me to pursue a fellowship specializing in cancer and non-malignant pain at MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor, and University of Texas Hospitals, where I honed my skills under the tutelage of leading experts in the field.

For over 25 years, I have dedicated my career to improving the quality of life for those living with chronic pain. Understanding that 24% of US adults are burdened by chronic pain impacting their daily activities, I am driven by the belief that everyone deserves to lead a life free of discomfort. I approach each patient with the understanding that they have a unique story, and I work to craft individualized treatment plans that prioritize their well-being and return to an active lifestyle.

I specialize in a comprehensive range of chronic pain conditions, including fibromyalgia, complex regional pain syndrome, various forms of arthritis, spine disorders like herniated discs, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc diseases, headaches, and neuropathies. My approach to treatment combines the latest in pharmaceuticals and therapeutic interventions with time-tested techniques like acupuncture. With endorsements from reputable organizations such as the World Health Organization and the National Institutes of Health, acupuncture has become a valuable part of my practice, offering natural pain relief and promoting overall wellness by stimulating endorphin release.

Additionally, I offer MLS Laser Therapy, a cutting-edge, non-invasive procedure that uses light to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and aid in tissue repair. For many of my patients, this therapy has been transformative, enabling them to reduce dependency on medication and avoid surgical interventions.

My treatment plans are tailored to suit each patient’s individual needs and comfort levels, incorporating pharmaceuticals, physical therapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, MLS laser treatments, and injections. I adopt a stepwise approach to evaluate the efficacy of treatments, ensuring that each choice aligns with the patient’s health goals. When necessary, I collaborate with neurosurgeons within my practice to provide surgical options, guiding patients through to recovery with minimal discomfort.

Throughout my career, I've been recognized with awards like the Castle Connolly "Top Doctor" and the Top Doctor Award, reflecting my commitment to excellence in patient care and professional leadership. Moreover, my engagement with the local community underscores my devotion to nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals. Through the Patchogue Medford Corporate Raiders Outstanding Mentorship Award, I have been honored for mentoring high school students in East Patchogue, where I have practiced for 25 years.
