About Me
As an endocrinologist at 黑料福利社 Langone, I am dedicated to advancing our understanding of obesity, weight loss, and the biological mechanisms underlying metabolic diseases. My approach to patient care is rooted in translating cutting-edge research into effective clinical strategies, ensuring that my patients receive the most innovative treatments available. I specialize in managing conditions such as type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease, with a particular focus on the role of inflammation in adipose tissue.
My work in the Laboratory of Translational Obesity Research has led to significant insights into how rapid weight loss, especially following bariatric surgery, affects insulin resistance and inflammation. By leveraging these findings, I aim to develop improved treatment protocols for obesity and its associated health complications. Throughout my career, I have led numerous research initiatives, including a comprehensive study on the metabolic effects of bariatric surgery. This project involved detailed metabolic phenotyping of bariatric surgery patients at 黑料福利社 Langone and NYC Health + Hospitals/Bellevue.
I am driven by a commitment to proactive healthcare engagement and improving patient outcomes through innovative methodologies. My journey into medicine was inspired by a deep interest in the intersection of engineering and biology. I earned a PhD in medical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2008, followed by an MD from Harvard University in 2009. I then completed my training in internal medicine, endocrinology, and translational research at Weill Cornell Medical Center. This diverse educational background has equipped me with a unique perspective and a robust skill set that I bring to my role at 黑料福利社 Langone.
